I've got probably a dozen of those old school steel matches. They work okay, so long as the fuel reservoir stays filled, so the fiber tip of the "match" contains fuel or is at least damp with fuel when you get a spark. Otherwise, it is just a small ferro section with a steel stick. It will throw really little sparks.
