So at what point are things like this not an act of war? Oh, when it comes from over, through or under our southern border, never mind.

Personally, I've had enough of Mexico holding one of our troops 'hostage', their military shooting at our border patrol guys, flying choppers in.

Mexico is NO 'ally' to the United States at this point.

Send down some reinforcements. Apache's, Cobra's, tanks, whatever. They shoot at our guys, eliminate the problem, period.

So? He did something that he didn't think would raise a problem. He thought wrong. If you are playing this card, then explain for us how those stupid MFSBs crossing our border and OPENING FIRE on our border patrol is an error in understanding of the law rather than a willful act of life-threatening violence, yet they get to say 'oops' and walk away. My position is that I want either that young marine alive or the offending Mexicans dead.

tripod mounted, motion activated mini 14's every 1000 yards along our southern board should do the trick. or in this case maybe the phalanx would be more appropriate.

Im not playing any card. There are several Americans who have made this mistake and they are still there. Unless im wrong there are signs posted prior to entering that no guns are allowed in Mexico. Relax man, this stuff starts and ends in DC......not the border.

You are indeed correct that the problem has its roots in DC. If they have no problem with their forces attacking our border patrol on our soil (and this is far from being the first time) yet put our people in prison indefinitely for being caught with even the most contemptible of weapons (which I believe the man misunderstood could be authorized if declared at the border crossing) then we need to give mex.gov 72 hours to correct the problem by releasing our citizens into the US or else sent the troops to Mexico City, round up the president and cabinet, and execute the lot of them. I, for one, am sick and tired of Mexico assisting criminals in breaking our laws, allowing its military personnel to open fire on our border patrol, escort drug shipments, refuse to extradite the worst of violent felons, have consuls make a cottage industry out of meddling in our internal affairs while screaming up a lung if we say a word about theirs including a word regarding detained US citizens. I agree with respecting the dignity of foreign nations with whom we are not at war, but that street runs both ways. If they can't straighten up, clean them up with bullets and ropes.

Speaking of cleaning up, it seems to me that Mexico is a far greater threat to the safety, security, and lives of our people than Afghanistan or Iraq ever thought of being. After all, illegals kill far more Americans here in the US than al-Queda ever managed.
