Grandmaster
I got an old army tent literally dumped in my living room from well meaning grandparents dumping their extra clutter on the grandkids with great-grandkids (apparently a tradition on my wife's side of the family )
ANYwho I was thinking of making some kickass Army ODgreen micarta with the practically limitless supply now at my disposal and I was thinking of two signifcant potential downfalls:
1. Value.
Is this tent potentially worth anything? I don't know the actual dimiensions but it is apparently a four man tent with poles, sleeping bags, wool floor mats... The works. It seems to be in fairly good condition, it holds no sentimental value for me (was not my actual grandpa, he married into the family a couple years ago and it isn't even HIS army tent) and I have no interest in the huge green monstrosity taking up space in my basement as I have my own modern tent that is at least the same size and takes up 1/4 of the room and about 1/10th the weight.
2. Coatings?
Is there likely anything on this tent to make it waterproof or anything that will hinder the fiberglass resin from bonding?
