I just picked up a sweet microtech from bladehq.com. Its zombie edition OTF only problem is now I check the laws it's a class B misd for owning/carrying the thing. Anyone have experience with cops or how they deal with knives in general. I called my sheriff office today with no luck. Any info for Indiana please. Oh I also have my cc permit lifetime and have had one for last 12 years. Any chance it could carry over to knives?!

    1) There is no such thing as a "CC permit" in Indiana.
Im not sure what you think having.

    2) Automatic knives are illegal to own in Indiana.

    3) I wouldn't call the police to tell them that you own an illegal item, or to ask them any kind of legal advice.

    4) Welcome to INGO!

Heckuva first post, don't you think?

    No, seriously. Don't you THINK?

Short on common sense and well reasoned judgement.
You know what they say about good judgement. It comes from experience.
You know where you get experience? Bad judgement.

Omg that auto is so freaking illegal man. wtf were you thinking!!! holy crap you broke the law. probably like all these people posting on here about it when they all drive over the speed limit, don't come to complete stops, buying a cold soda at a liquor store ect ect.

Just don't announce it to the public and don't do dumb stuff to draw attention to yourself. You will be fine. most officers who encounter you with it won't know the difference or they won't care. most will not be concerned at all unless you have other charges on you already.

Enjoy it and be smart. here is a list of other dumb stuff you can't do here in Indiana that probably 90 percent of folks on this board lecturing you break. hint hint!! oral sex!!!

:dunno: I thought the man was asking a question and folks were answering it for him. He probably won't get caught with it, but it IS illegal and he can get into trouble for having it. Since he took the time to ask the question, I (and apparently the others) assumed that he wanted an answer and that having that knowledge would benefit him.

I do not understand how people can call the LTCH (License to Carry Handgun) a "cc permit".

You spent the time filling out the application, paying for the process, and carrying the thing around for 12 years and you do not know it's called a LTCH?

Had you of just looked at that little pink card you would have had your answer.

I hope he knows about the actual carry laws better than he knows about his "permit".

I think Grunt gave him the most honest answer in this thread. He gave him the information that it was illegal, and he further explained how illegal it is pretty accurately.

Whatever you decide with your knife, enjoy. And welcome to INGO.

People are too nitpicky about that crap. Inform, don't poke fun. He's new here, he has no idea what you are making fun of him for. He probably doesn't even realize there is a difference between a "permit" and a "license" to begin with, because he probably hasn't considered it important enough to think about. If you consider it important, why don't you just correct him?

I still sometimes call magazines "clips" and I've known the difference since I was 10. Some people just don't care.
