I'm confused to the original post. You not deal with Midway, yet you wanted to leave a comment on a product they have for sale. If you don't deal with them why would you feel the need to comment?

I was going to comment on a product and the retailer.

This was not AUTO FILL. It was Midway's completion form. It appeared after I filled in my e-mail and then a password and hit enter.

I am forever mystified that folks still freely give their information to electronic communication devices believing that information is private. :dunno:

Do you similarly concerned when you get physical junk mail with your name and address in your mail box?

Your name and address/ phone number isn't exactly privileged information.

Haha... this is ABSOLUTELY Auto-Fill. I would put money on it.

This is EXACTLY how auto-fill works. You fill out a form on one site, and it remembers your information for use with other sites so you don't have to type everything in each time. It looks for the field name on a form, such as "email address" and then automatically inserts that information into the field. Same with name, address, phone number, etc.

I received an advertisement E_Mail From Midway.
it showed a small video camera that I obtained from Amazon.
I wanted to write a review about it.
I clicked on the box to write a comment.
It said I had to Register to be able to comment.
I filled in my "E-Mail address. They already had it because they sent me the advertisement.
Then it asked me to generate a password. So I inputted a password.
That is when a form popped up with all my personal information.

Yep, that is exactly how Auto-Fill works. That information is stored on your computer, not at Midway. When you go to fill out a form, Windows fills in the data for you after you start entering data in any field. That information is saved from other forms you have filled out at other web sites. When it sees a field titled "address" it automatically adds the same information you added to a similar field before.

Let's be clear, it is not Windows doing it... the browser does it, based on settings that are configurable in the browser to store and complete auto fill forms.

Yes, sorry. I should have been more succinct, but I wanted to make sure he understood that it was on his end, not Midway's, and it is DEFINITELY in the browser settings. Thanks for setting things straight.

    Wait.

Some of you expect us to believe that computers and programs have a memory. That they can deduce what to do based on things that have happened in the past. Then, they can predict what the user might want to do next and do it for them.

    Yeah. Sure. Right.

Next you'll try to convince us that they have feelings and won't open the pod bay doors.
