mildew on stacked leather handle

I've got a 5" Kabar with stacked leather handle that belonged to my son. I found it in his trunk with mildew on it and cleaned it up but can't keep the white mold off it. What will work? Ballistol, maybe?

Doesn't bleach kill mold
maybe a bleach water solution Dies in the leather should be ok

I would try some saddle soap on it.

once it is clean, dress the leather with a little mineral oil, that will prevent further problems.
