    I have no real issue with it, they aren't sending letters saying suicide is ok, they are sending letters to the family sharing in their sorrow. I don't think it will somehow make suicide an honorable way to die or whatever you want to call it.

    That being said, its your life, should be your right to end it.

    You'd be surprised how many of our soldiers survive combat only to come home and commit suicide. You can think what you want about suicide, but there is definitely a problem with returning vets that's causing some of them to do this. I'm glad that the administration is extending this to the families.

    I was also torn when I heard about this. Part of me wanted to say that there shouldn't be recognition from the POTUS for a military person who dies in service because of suicide, but another part of me knows that the person still served our country and the family needs the condolence.
