Police: Mishawaka business owner accidentally shoots self - wsbt.com

The owner of a Mishawaka auto body repair shop in the 1200 block of West 8th Street is expected to survive after shooting himself.
St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett said this is being considered an accidental shooting and the victim -- owner of the business, 78-year-old Frank Demske -- is expected to survive.
Corbett said Demske heard a noise in the attic of the shop and went to check it out. While he was climbing a ladder, his gun accidentally discharged, hitting him in the face.

Let's see. Climbing a ladder while holding a gun with his finger ON the trigger. Wow.

Glad he's going to be ok.

Maybe he had his finger off the trigger and caught the trigger on something sticking out.

Although he should have called the police and not investigated. I'm sure many here, including me would have investigated.
