So I LOVE my ESEE 5, but I'm kinda getting into this whole knife game. So I decided to give her a face lift.

    Started with a basic 5

Wanted a choil, so I added one....Wanted a new finish, so I striped it too

Factory metal looked like crap, so sand and sand and sand and sand...

After I cut the stippling down I decided to change the shape to more aggressive and longer for use with the choil.

Wanted to give it some character so I did some file work on the spine (I know it's not the best, but hey I only had so long)

Put a patina on the top side of the blade.....Polish/clean blade after getting it dirty.... install grips.

Thanks guys, I need to throw a shout out to Grunt Soldier. He gave me some tips on a few things when I called him earlier. Big help, thanks brother. :yesway:

Looks good. So does this void the warranty?

It may, depends how they feel about it. I think like grunt said, they may be worried about me screwing up the heat treat when I put in the mods. But when I was doing the mods I used a carbide bit cutter and files. It never got hot to the touch, so there is no way it screwed up the heat treat. So idk, hopefully I will never need to find out!

heat treat is not the only thing to worry about. you can create stress risors without over heating it. but i see nothing to hint at any of those.

i usually HATE pimped knives, mainly because they get all over the top and there scream "look at the awesome!".... and it isn't. THIS is very nicely done, practical, and purpose built. i love it. you did very nice work! and good call on just etching off the logos. i think it would have probly looked silly.

    thumbs up! :patriot:

Thank you, I did not know about the stress risers, I will read up on that. This was my first attempt at modding knives so thank you for the nice comments, this goes for everyone too.
