Well got the rifle back out to the range today this time shooting some of my handloads I did over the weekend  . I took Adam's advice and shot 5 shot groups at 100yrds of bench. Results as follows:

These groups were shot using 44.1gr of Varget, Hornady 168gr HPBT Match, 2.800 OAL
The best group of the day with this load with the exception of the flyer was the target in the middle group size of .540" if you take out the flyer.

These groups were shot using 42.1gr of IMR 4064, Hornady 168gr HPBT Match, 2.800 OAL
The best group of the day overall with this load with the exception of the flyer was the target. i was a little shocked that the 4064 did that well, I think this is going to be my load for a while. on the left, group size of .451" if you take out the flyer.

4064 is what my current stockpile is loaded with, and my results have been comparable to my normal Varget load. I couldnt get my hands on the Varget, and I have heard all sorts of good about 4046, so I gave it a whirl. So far the biggest difference I have noticed over Varget is that 4046 is a little dirty compared to Varget.

I'm using H4895 in my son's 308 loads and getting loads well under MOA with 155gr A-Max bullets.

Yea i did notice that it was a bit dirtier over the Varget. But with results like that I dont mind a little extra cleaning:yesway:

Mine too...4064 is a bit of a pain to work with, but get good results where it counts.
This. It runs so bad through my LNL powder measure, I end up weighing every load. But the performance is proof why this powder has been around for more than a couple of generations.

    4895 might suprise you too.

With IMR 4895 (a little different burn rate than H4895) @ 44.1 grains behind a Nosler Custom Competition 155 gr HPBT, I got just over 2700 fps out of my M1A NM with just sub-MOA groups. Highpower shooters call it a Palma round.
