Looks cool and the dimples reduce barrel weight or just aesthetic?

How was this engineered to guarantee the integrity of the barrel is kept by removing that material and making the barrel wall thinner in the dimple areas? How far can you go before the barrel might distort under load?

well first, fluting is done by every manufacturer for aesthetics AND because it makes the barrel lighter and stronger (idk how it makes it stronger but thats what im told) and second all of the harsh work is done in the chamber which is made to withstand double the chamber pressure that its rated for, for my flutes i go down 20 thousandths so its not too much, you see barrels that are ported and have holes drilled straight through to the rifling that come out of major manufacturers
