Odd how all these distractions come about... maybe just to cover up all the Biden screw ups. Covid, Ukraine,, border, defund police. Now he'll put in the first black female Justice on supreme court.

Wonder how long it would take before cities changed course if they started losing police officers at 10% per month. Lots of jobs out there where employers appreciate what you do that don't involve getting shot.

If anybody knows of one of these jobs in central Indiana at about 50k/year, please let me know. I’m organized, handy, know my way around tools, have a truck and can read and write gud. I even have a clean driving record!

WTF-Over? How did we get here?

Maybe all the years of Cop-hate being spewed, combined with the violent crime increase across the country (including record homicides in what, 21 cities across the country last year?)

Add that to the Soros-funded prosecutors (and some who aren't like Revolving Door Ryan,) multiply it by the "mostly peaceful but fiery" riots for a violent felon/drug addict.

Then add on: our southern border is a complete sieve and has been for a year. We've got secret flights sending God knows who, to God knows where.

Six law enforcement officers shot across US in less than 48 hours as violent crime surges

Two police officers were shot in St. Louis, a sheriff's deputy was shot in Milwaukee; and, three more police officers were shot in Houston

This is us having lost our moral compass as a nation. We are rotting and imploding from within.

This is when I miss having MrJarrell here. He could have assured us that being a hairstylist was a more deadly profession than a police officer.
That argument was always more complicated than that. What I sadly have an issue with is that it takes 1500hrs or so of training to get your hair stylist license. IMPD training is about the average for the US at 880hrs. Now field training could be another 700-800hrs so all together about the same. For a job that entails SO many different legal aspects and skills, this just isn't enough.

It's only a distraction if people care, and nobody does. People may be interested, but the news story is only interesting until the suspect is in custody and there's zero chance in the 24 hour news cycle this knocks any of those issues out of the rotation.

The police and military are only effective with widespread social support, and those institutions have been under attack more and more furiously. Policing is always controversial, but it's never been under assault like in post-Ferguson USA in most of our lifetimes. Maybe during the '60s, maybe.
