Correct, Libertarian01. RGuns is currently the only importer that has a large number of Real Mosin Nagant sniper rifles in stock in the US. (Per gunboards.com consensus.)

    I"m still contemplating buying one.

My brother in law just bought one last week. They have a "Hope and Change" package. A Mosin with a spam can of 7.62x54r for $150. Awesome deal and the gun was in pretty nice shape.

Interesting, I asked them once if they were original and they said yes. Are they making them from aftermarket scopes, or are they assembled prior to import?

The scopes are repros, in fact made in the same factory as the originals, and the rifles the scopes are put on were never snipers. There are certain dead giveaways that Classic's are repros, like the flat headed screws on the scope turrets, wrong dates, no sniper markings, etc. Everything I've seen indicates the assembly was done prior to import by the same people who assemble everybody else's repros using the same parts.

I just ordered a Repro PU Sniper from SOG for $359 plus shipping. I wouldnt pay $900 for a "real" PU unless you have money to burn or want it as a collector piece.
I bought mine to shoot. Cheaper than trying to make one out of a standard 91/30.
I will let you know if its any good once I get it and shoot it.

I need to get one of those to turn my former sniper back into one.

Have to get the plugged up holes cleared out too.
