Tikka T3 Lite in 223. Multiple sub .5" 5 shot groups @150 yards. Almost any decent ammo of heavier than 60 grains is well under .75 MOA, less than 60 isn't much worse. Bone stock, didn't even adjust the trigger.

I can back this up as well. My tikka 6.5 is about a .5moa gun, probably because of me. I have shot groups around 1/4" before but its not all the time. Decisions out if its me or the gun. Most likely me....

Sako 85 Long Range in 338 Lapua Magnum is absolutely incredible. My son bought one we have shot it out to 200 yards using 300gr Sierra MK. 5 shot groups touch each other. The smallest group was .878"

This thread makes me wonder... are there some people shooting their rifles while they are still in the box?

I'll show myself out and let the adults continue their conversation.

Savage 110 pre accu in 22-250, Savage 93R17FVSR in 17HMR, Panther Arms bull 16 in .223, Ruger K1022T in 22lr

All would put bullets through same hole. All with factory junk ammo except the Panther required handholding to get there. Sold them all except the 93R. Daughter is a sniper with it and likes shooting it.

I’m a fan of the Howa 1500. My 20” .308 was an excellent shooter right out of the box. The trigger was good, but much better after a bit of adjusting. I wanted to see how good it could get and added a B&C medalist stock and glass bedded the action. With 168 gr. AMAX, 44 gr. Of Varget, CCI benchrest primers in once fired Winchester brass, it will put 5 rounds in a group you can cover with a dime at 100 all day long.

My now discontinued Tikka T3 Lite is head shaking accurate and best shooting rifle I have ever owned. Close second is a tie between my 1993 production M-700 and my Savage 116 WW

Really sad to see Tikka's go from the best deal in affordable rifles to still great shooters but no longer the best deal out there.

When did Rem start offering Jewell triggers out of the box?

Good point , but the Jewell did not make the rifle any more accurate than it was with the stock trigger. Made it much easier for ME to realize the accuracy potential.
But in all fairness you are correct - the targets I fired were not with the rifle in the "out of box" configuration.
