Naaaa, my brother has my fathers mid 70's flat track XR750's about 3 grand new, they are over 20 grand now.
I have my guncles 1950 FL Pan, it was a gift. They are stupid money now...
I have a 1980 FXS and a 84 FLH that I bought new, all are worth what or more than I paid for them.

There are of course a few exceptions but we had no way of knowing that when buying those bike new. I'm sure if you has a pristine Honda 750 from the 70's it would bring more than it original selling price. But then again, In other words, $3,000 in 1975 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $14,493.57 in 2020, a difference of $11,493.57 over 45 years.

Yep, but one can't ride purchasing power for better than 40 years and still get ones money back...

What's the hp/trq before the tune?

Its a whole new setup. 2014 Street Glide, was a 103ci with intake, header and full exhaust and made 86/98. Its now a S&S 106ci, still stock heads and throttle body but everything else is new and upgraded. S&S crank, cam plate and oil pump, Andrews 57h cams, etc.

Absolutely true, if I would have known I would have piled up the Knuckle and Panhead motors/parts when I was a kid and no one wanted them..

I've thought of this over and over; some of the neat things, automotive and otherwise, that I wish I had kept.

However, since we don't really know what is going to be collectible in the future and what is not, the alternative is to end up with garages full of (mostly) junk. And the opportunity to be on an episode of Hoarders. :):

Temps reached 80 yesterday and bikes were out everywhere.

Today it's raining and should top out in the mid-50's. I suspect that none but the ADV/Touring type bikes will be on the street today. I'm planning to go out about noon to run some errands, rain or shine.
