Hello everybody, I am in the process of moving to Indiana. I currently live in Georgia and I have a few questions as to where the Go- NO Go places are while carrying. Obviously No Federal Buildings, or courthouses. What about places that serve alcohol by the drink? For example Applebee's or the like. Is it my duty to inform law enforcement that I am carrying. A websit link or similar would be helpful for a symposium of Indiana Gun Laws. Thanks Kyle.

Pretty much all gun rights in Indiana outside of your home require you have a license to carry a handgun.

Indiana = Drinking & gun carrying = Legal w/limits on the drinking part, not the gun toting part
Indiana = carrying into bars = Legal
Indiana = carrying onto school property while dropping off your kid = Legal w/limits
Indiana = carrying into businesses with NO GUNS signs = legal to ignore those idiotic signs!
Indiana = legal to carry in church as long as there is no school on the church property
Indiana = legal to carry into banks
    and
Indiana = NO requirement to inform LEO you are carrying

there are only a significant few places that you can't carry a firearm per IN law.

Here are some of them & the links from the IN state law:

Schools - Indiana Code 35-47-9 - colleges & universities aren't legally defined as schools, only pre-k through high school.

Daycare - I can't find the law - can anybody help out?

    Aircraft/airports - Indiana Code 35-47-6

    Riverboat casino's - http://www.ai.org/legislative/iac/T00680/A00010.PDF

IN state fair grounds but only DURING the state fair - http://www.in.gov/legislative/iac/T00800/A00040.PDF

    Port areas - http://www.in.gov/legislative/iac/T01300/A00040.PDF

DNR run properties - You can carry a defensive handgun in state parks with limitations- http://www.in.gov/legislative/iac/T03120/A00080.PDF?

You can't carry a loaded/uncased gun while on an ATV with exceptions - Indiana Code 14-16-1

You need a license to carry a handgun (LTCH) to transport/carry a handgun off your property FOR ALMOST ANY REASON - there are only 3 exceptions to this - Indiana Code 35-47-2

You don't need ANY license at all to carry/transport a long-gun off your property, loaded or not.

Your employer can't LEGALLY prevent you from carrying a gun to work as long as you meet certain storage requirements - Enrolled Act, House Bill 1065 - this is not the law but the bill as passed - couldn't find the link to the actual law quickly.

Local governments can't enact laws against firearm carry with the exception of the property that they directly control (parks, buildings, etc).

I think that's it (other than federal). You'll notice that banks, bars courthouses aren't on the list. Courthouses are PROBABLY a no carry zone but not per state law. It's up to the local administration to make those rules.

If I missed anything somebody will pipe up soon.

What limits? I am not aware of any limits on drinking while carrying, other then personal limits you set on yourself and good judgment
