"Shouldn't be allowed?" Do those vermin actually think they have the right to tell us, and private companies, what expressions of Christianity we may and may not make?

    Probably so.

Maybe the .gov "shouldn't be allowed" to purchase equipment that has ANY markings on it (might offend someone). Can't be black, either (looks too evil), can't have "made in" info (playing favorites to a state), can't look expensive (over spending taxpayer's $), and can't look cheap (only the best for the military).

Manufacturers can offer for sale any product they wish.

Don't like it? Don't buy it...

I voted. I also posted a comment (among the several hundred others) that I have included below:

"What a lot of you don't realize that this sight (aiming device) is probably the very best technology out there for our troop's use. The manufacturer can put anything he wants to on the equipment - if the government does not want to contract for the equipment, it doesn't have to, but, will be handicapping our troops, in a VERY significant manner, in the name of political correctness. Some of you "goodie-two-shoes" need to recognize reality. "

I have no problem with the religious references. I personally think that it is great. As long as they continue to keep the quality of their products as high as they do, they can keep putting scripture on the sights.

***Rolls eyes*** at all of the keyboard warriors out there that voted "no" for having scripture on his optic whilst he defends said keyboard warrior's freedom to vote "no"

Well, Trijicon just folded, even going to offer Uncle Sugar kits to get rid of the ones already purchased. The Muslims have won another one.

    In the PRK now =(
I heard they folded. But they only folded on models made for the U.S. Military and that private sale items will still have scripture reference. To me this is fine, they are still free to put what they want. And the Government was a customer, as a customer it is free to choose who it buys product from. Trijicon made a few changes to keep a valued customer, but only made the changes to the product that is to be sold to that customer. Their rights are fully intact.

Agreed. Now maybe they'll dump a bunch of traded in .gov ones on the cheap :)

I talked to several soldiers yesterday at Indy M.E.P.S. about this issue and none were aware of the serial numbers until this story hit the news. There were various reactions from, "It shouldn't be there because we'll upset the Muslims" to "What the heck do I care about it? As long as it works, I don't care." They all had one comment in consensus:

"It is the best damn sight I have ever used."

I thought that was a pretty good recommendation of the product from a group of people with skin in the game.

All the verses have to do with "the light" so it goes with the illuminated scopes quite well.

From what I understood they were only removing the verse from the ones sold to the military.
