I had a couple of bushes growing in near the swing set, but my master gardener daughter cut them down. They are growing back, but no MB's yet. I like their vaguely sweet and subtle jammy taste .

the creek i fished at as a kid had a mulberry tree near my fishing spot. used to pack a lunch and pick dessert every trip in the summer. when i lived in north carolina, we had a white mulberry in the front yard. not nearly as good.

A tasty treat this time of year but birds eating them makes a mess on the car. They make an excellent wine.:)

I have a tree in my backyard.

I also go along the White River downtown where there are dozens of trees. I have gallons of mulberries in the freezer. We love them. I make mulberry cobbler that everyone says the exact same thing when they try it, "Wow, this tastes great! I didn't know you could do anything with mulberries."

I don't know why people don't use them more. The fully ripe ones are almost as good as a blackberry but with no seeds to deal with.

And the birds sit on the fence and :poop: the seeds. They spring up and take over the area. We keep them cleared but the lazy neighbors do not and the are is thick with them.
