A semi-custom maker that I have followed since inception is MunitionWorks (formerly MilitiaWorks) in Wisconsin.

I have a JOE and an upper and am considering a Dissent when I discovered that a Mk2 version of both is now available.

I like the idea of makers that know what needs to be on an AR so one does not spend time and money turning say a Colt M6920 into something usable.

NOTE: I am posting this for general info/awareness NOT to attack your favorite S&W, Ruger, Charles Daly, 3-D printed, CNC'd, what have you.

Worth a look if you like "customized mid-tier" concept (pay once, cry once as Grandma Page said):

    I'm all for more makers...

But this is such a crowded space, you know?

There are already well-established tried/true brands at this price point that an "up and comer" will have a tough slog.

SOLGW, Sionics, FN, Centurion, the LWRC DI guns, Etc - are all in/around that some price point AND are known quantities.

An $800 BCM upper and a $400 BCM complete lower is also a no-frills "what needs to be on an AR".

I wish them well, I really do. But it'll be a tough slog.

Lead & Steel makes a very similar mid tier gun. Definitely crowded.
