Has anyone had any experience with the Midwest Industries 2 chamber break or the Surefire Procomp muzzle brake? Or any other good 5.56 brakes.

I'm a big fan of the Surefire Socom brakes. I've got them on all of my ARs (to run suppressed), and I'm having my Scar 17 barrel chopped and a Surefire Socom brake pinned and welded. The do a phenomenal job of keeping the gun flat when shooting, however, they are louder than other muzzle devices. But most brakes are.

I have 2 muzzle brakes. I have a couple of the AAC Brake that I think works well enough.

I also have a the Allen Engineering OPS clone on my SPR. I think the Allen design works better as a break.

I just put a surefire socom break on my new upper. I have yet to shoot it but I'm excited to, I am very pleased with the fit and finish though. Surefire quality...

If you're wanting to get a great bang for your buck, the Miculek brakes are about $40. The performance you get for the money paid on those is absolutely unbeatable. But they're loud and ugly.

I've got a Surefire Procomp. It's VERY nice for the money paid. IMHO, it's less obnoxious than the Miculek, and the best thing under $75. If you're looking in the price range of the Procomp, just go for it. It's an awesome brake for the money.

Surefire vs. MI.....Surefire every single time and twice on Sundays. No comparison. Surefire makes top of the line gear. MI.....well, it's budget stuff, and sometimes they use their customers to do their beta testing and don't offer to fix poorly engineered products when they break in customers hands. Personally, I wouldn't touch a MI product with a 20 foot stick.
