Mostly for fun, I tested some hollow point ammo that I had on hand. Lets start with .32acp, I had a small number of extra Speer Gold Dots so I decided to see how they would do. It turns out not very good. .32acp is a very slow round for as small as it is and the lack of velocity really shows out of a short barrelled Kel Tec P32.
Next is Winchester PDX1 in 45acp. I fired 2 rounds into blue jeans and into two different jugs. One round expanded slightly, the other failed to expand at all. The one that didnt expand made it into the second phone book, while the other only made it about halfway through the first.
And now for the finally of this test, Corbon Pow'r Ball in 45acp. It destroyed the water jug, it was the only round that expanded and it did so explosively, losing its jacket in the process. As soon as I can dig out my calipers I will measure its expansion. It only dented the phonebooks, but it blew them back about 3 feet. I have videos on my cell phone and as soon as I can figure out how to upload them I will add them here.
