I was a lucky gun-lotto winner and purchased a service grade 1911 from CMP. I got the call on Tuesday and had the gun on Thursday. I thought some of you might like to see what they’re shipping for $1,250.
It looks like a 1945 Ithaca frame with a Remington Rand slide. From what I’ve seen Remington Rand stopped production after 1945 so I got what I was hoping for; a WWII vintage 1911 in good shootable condition. I think the barrel is a replacement added sometime after 1960. That’s fine with me. It’s still USGI issue. The shipping case is impressive.
I don’t know much about 1911’s but I intend to dig into the history of this one as far as practical.
Any comments or suggestions for online sources would be appreciated.
If you have an application in....good luck!
