So I hated my Izula sheath for pocket carry. So I decided to make a kydex sheath for it. I wanted something as simple, thin, and small as possible.

I used .080 Kydex and Chicago screws. No rivets because I didn't want to buy the rivet tool, and it was cheaper for the small amount of sheaths I'm going to make.

    Retention turned out perfect.....somehow.....

What do you think? I think I need better foam and a better clamp to get better defined lines next time. But I'm happy for my first swag at it.

Looks really good. Very simple, but that's not a bad thing. Looks nice and clean. Better defined lines can be cool, but I think it looks great just how you have it. IMO better defined lines would hint at good retention, but if the retention turned out perfect I'd say the blade outline is a minor cosmetic attribute.

I hope to try out kydex one day.

That looks very nice, and I think you did a great job for a first sheath. If you're concerned with rapid or one hand deployment you can put a couple of holes on it for a cord or lanyard, loop the cord around your belt, and drop the knife in sheath into your pocket. Then just grab the knife by handle and pull until pops free of the sheath.

Very nice. I pocket carry an esee candiru and don't really like the factory sheath. I'd love one of those made for my candiru if you get to the point you start making for other people.

I'd be glad to make you one. No charge except shipping since I've got some left over material. Send me a PM and I'll get you a shipping address (I'll need your Candiru to mold it).

(Also, no guarantees on the sheath quality, but I'll do my best)

New sheath for Indygunguy. Hope you like it, man.

I think it turned out better than my last one. I taped the blade this time when I molded it. So it gives the blade just a little wiggle room so it stays sharp longer. Also did a little cut out around the scales this time.
