I'm wanting to get started in class 3 guns. where is a good start?

I'm wanting to go with an AR frame in a SBR with a can. But I've seen some SBR frames for the glock. Im looking for something for in home defense but also something for the range. Just something fun to go out with and have a good time.

It seems most people jump into the NFA world with a .22 suppressor (myself included). Its the cheapest way to get started. As far as something suppressed in an AR for home defense? I would say 9mm for caliber on a sbr'ed AR with a suppressor.

If you are set on a SBR For home defense buy a factory SBR and shooting it until your fingers bleed and you have 150% confidence that you can trust your life and the life of your family to it.

Base platform doesn't matter as much as your mindset and having a tool that will work 100% of the time.
