More bang for the buck to buy 1911 in .45 then buy a .22 conversion ciener kit or equivalent.I have a couple colt 1911's, I don't carry them often. Except to the range! Seems like having 1 in a .22 for extra practice is a no brainer. I'll be looking forward to a range report.
I have 45acp guns and my view is like this:I wouldn't mind having a conversion kit. Just seems like a complete gun is comparable in price.
But if I didn't already have a 1911 the complete gun seems like a logical choice.
