    I never really understood the danger of posting your plates... everyone who drives behind you can see your plates. its not like your ss number or anything

    I assume it's the accumulation of data about you. "we" now know what part of the state you are from, what your online name is, at least one of your interests, and I suppose if a person wants to, you might look for that username on other forums and try to get a better picture of other parts of your life. Public data and social media is often mined for this type info.
