I think the possible uses he gave are pretty far-fetched and don't require such a piece of kit to solve.

It's certainly an interesting concept and perhaps some other ideas will spring from it, but I don't see this going anywhere.

If we all throw in a dollar will you put one on your AR? I'll bet we can make this happen!

Hopefully your self-esteem has a picatinny rail attachment that you can ratchet closer as everyone makes fun of you.

I'm married with twins, my self esteem has long sing departed

Going back to your gimmick thing. I have a biased against any gimmicky stuff as I have seen too much of it break in class. Yet, at the same time, I understand experimentation and innovation should be encouraged.

I am always late to the party with the gimmick stuff and when you look at my ARs you will die of boredom (triggers and sights is where to put the money). My advice, see where this is in 2 or 3 years.

Seems pretty unnecessary. Even for the techniques he demonstrated, there are already easier ways to do it. I can see a lot of tacticool gun owners (and probably a lot of airsoft players) running this.

But it's not for me. It's like a weird Rubik's Cube of unnecessary attachments.

I have a feeling they will be sitting next to these in the basement of some guy's mom's house:

If it adds weight, and does not serve a useful purpose - then it is counterproductive. Sure, if there was a viable use for it, I could accept that - but just like Rob pointed out most people would say - it is an "answer searching for a solution"... well, there is a reason people would say that....

I pondered an idea sort of like this for the Sub 2k to enable it to fold and still have a top mounted optic....Somebody finish the plan for me. :)

Slight derail of topic: All of the crazy skewed prices are starting to eat at me a little bit.
So the guns and accessory market has a certain amount of mark up for its products. I get it. Look at Eotech, Trijicon, or any of the popular brands. I've been looking at Quad rails for quite a while trying to justify 210-250+ for a Seekins Precision SAR or BAR. I still can't fathom where the money goes. Is it the metal? The machining process? It must all be the markup. I took one look at this contraption and thought "O.k. this may be worth the $200 price point, and then I saw the tag. $380.00 retail?

On a side note. Could they have found a longer name for it?
