I think something is up with my spring or I lost a part or something.
It's sticking up and running into the slide on re-assembly. And it looks like it has had a little impact. Thanks for the solution. I'm not the greatest with internals yet.
Prob doesn't matter but, Extreme model SRT.
    Thanks :ingo:

I pushed the spring down enough to get it under the slide and it seems fine now, but never
    had that happen. :dunno:
Going to disassemble again and see what happens.

Looks like you have a roll pin missing or broken off. On my 229 the end of that spring is held under a roll pin that comes in from the left side. I'll see if I can post a pic for you.

Thanks, I think it is broke.
I see the rest of it in there from the outside(left) of the frame.
Is that easy to fix or should it be sent in?

All you need is a new pin, a good punch, preferably a roll pin punch and a small hammer. A bench block would be nice but not needed. I f you have a vise with non marring jaws you can take the grips off and hold the frame in a vise. Brownells or Top Gun Supply should have the pin you need.

cool. thanks Mech. I don't have the tools but I'll find someone who does.
I may get a spring too, it has a place on the right side of it.
