I need a gunsmith to change the bolt knob on my Howa 1500 .308. I want a tactical knob installed. I would prefer to use a smith that has done other work for INGO members and comes with a recomendation. Let me know who I need to go see.

    Thanks.

I did change my Savage knob myself. The Howa is a different animal. I don't have time working 60-80 hrs a week to do it. I'd rather have it done.... locally. If I have to send it out so be it, but I'd rather keep it local.

I don't think that there is anything that Highsmith gun's won't take in. I know they have a fella they use for threads, and an employee there that is learning lathe work as we speak.

Geoff Corn, of the "Match Armorers Shop" located near Oakland City. He has built all my rifles. Does good work.

You might try VanFossans Custom Gunsmithing,if you don't mind sending out of state, a friend of mine turned me onto Bill use to be the Service Tech at Para in Seiverville TN untill they closed it last year. He does all kinds of custom work and very reasonable.
