Any AK experts out there, I need some help. I have several Ak's that I want to add options to, but not sure which ones to jack with and which to leave alone. Talking scopes, red dots, slide fire, furniture changing. Please pm me so I can contact directly. For example, I just got a scope mount and 3x9 scope. Would it be best on a wasr, io Inc, vz2008, amd 65 or Mac 90 sportster?

I would try the scope on all of the rifles that the mount will fit on, and keep it on the one with the best practical accuracy. I also wouldn't run a 3-9, but that's just me.

If you have a side rail then my perfered mount is the RS Regulate.

No side rail? then a dust cover mount will have to work. There are a couple of decent ones (texas weapon systems is one).

Otherwise, for a red dot, my other go to is the Ultimak gas tube rail.

As Clay said, side rail if you have it, TWS or Ultimak for a red dot. I'm not sure anything else is needed for a 7.62x39mm. With a 5.45, a 4x is good. For a 54R, a 6X or variable 3-9x is good. Just my opinion.

The new Magpul furniture seems to have landed pretty well. The Promag Archangel stock is also pretty great. Ditto to what everyone's saying about the optic solutions.

also, let me reiterate...... leave the Mak90 alone!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Shorten the barrel and weld an AMD65 extender. Make sure to attach as many rails as you can to that Chinese junk. And to make it really cool, carve some trench art. - Just some helpful hints ;)

Another hidden gem for AK stuff: Mission First Tactical.

Grips: people love the Hogue. I prefer the U.S. Palm, of course, now there's Magpul in the game.

UltimAK gas tubes are great red dot and flash light mounts and will cowitness with the right optic. I haven't played with the ALG trigger yet, but I hear good things. I'm not a purist with my AKs, aside from my AMD65, because AMD65....

Echo Nine Three makes nice sling adapters if you want to run your guns from a single point.

I don't have any of their stuff but RS Regulate seems to make quality optic and light mounts.

If you run some sort of quad rail, or railed handguard, the HSP Thorntail mount is a great way to get your light a little closer to the business end and in a more ergonomic position to actuate said light.
