I’m looking for someone to do chimney repair. It’s not used anymore as the house is total electric, but I’ve got some spalling of the brick. It’s either pull it down, or repair it. On the east side of Indianapolis.
If you’ve got a person you would recommend, post them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I never thought I would have a hard time finding someone. So far I've had a couple of guys make appointments then not show. No call to reschedule.

You can also call around to some GCs to see if they do any kind of chimney / masonry work.

Or just look into brick masons / masons. Probably not a bricklayer out there who doesn't also do chimneys.

I actually got a decent estimate for some chimney repair when I was selling my house from Bone Dry... their masonry department. I had one estimate come in 1500 dollars more then what they quoted me.

If the bricks aren't too bad, you can do it yourself. I knocked the top cap off, broke up the top section of liners and replaced them, then cemented them in place and redid the cap by hand.

I've got a couple of calls out now, so we'll see what happens. I appreciate the suggestions.

Unfortunately Expat, the spalling is what I first noticed. it wasn't a bad winter, but the faces popped of quite a few of them.
