Grandpa passed last year and Grandma has asked me to sell his guns. This one has got me stumped! I am trying to figure out what it is, where it's from, and when it was made. It has an octagon barrel. It is a single shot with 2 triggers, one to cock it and one to fire. It has markings on the barrel that say "KH" "GBU" "44" and some other markings. Any help would be appreciated! Mike

It looks like a Rook rifle from Europe. Most of them were from 28 to 32 caliber. Used over there for small to medium game. As for the markings, there are websites on the net that you may be able to find them on....John

    From Firearms Forum:
The crowns over the U and the G are German proofmarks. The crown over G is blackpowder, the crown over U is inspected.
Crown/B = Proved in finished condtion
    Crown/U = Definitive proof
Crown/B = Proof for rifled barrels
