This is cross posted with the normal long gun forum as well. I am not sure which is the best audience...

Like the title says I am looking for input on a good scope for a mossberg 308 bolt action for deer season. I would like the best bang for the buck. Some things I definitely want are adjustable illuminated dot for low light, stick around 200-300 preferable, fog resistant and an overall nice scope. Hoping to use it to make a good 200+ yard shot. Anyone have any experience with one? Any sales going on right now?

Vortex Crossfire II with the V-Brite reticle would be my suggestion for that price range, but the scope master himself (AllenM) should be along before too long and he can steer you in the right direction and get you set up.

    .
Prefer Leupold VX-R as a minimum spec.

    Then Nightforce SHV.

    Then up-and-up.
