Not too long ago I picked up an old Smith and Wesson 65. Feels good, shoots great, happy camper. The only problem is it appears that a previous owner let their diamond-toothed chihuahua chew on it. Either that or they tried to stipple the frame with a hammer and chisel and gave up after five minutes. I don't know exactly what was done to this thing but it has these patches of little, pinpoint dents that I was pretty sure I could ignore for the price I was paying. Turns out I was wrong...

I don't necessarily need to get rid of these, but I'd like to at least smooth the surface so that there aren't tiny shards of metal sticking up on the edges of these gouges. I know it's going to look bad and that's ok--I bought it as a shooter, not a looker, and it certainly fills that role just fine. Still, I'd prefer not to make it look any worse than I have to.

Anybody have any suggestions on the best way to take care of this?

    Between SB and FT.W
    Polishing might help.

I have a Service Six that looked much better after some rubbing with some polishing compound.

I don't know how deep those scratches are but it might help.
