Need mag basepad info

Hey Folks,
I need some mag basepads for my MecGar 1911 mags. The floor plates don't come off, so these would have to be drilled. Anyone do this? Wouldn't the screws get in the way of the follower?

Brownells sells a kit to do just this
Comes with a jig, 5 rubber pads and 10 screws
You'll need a drill bit
I've probably done a hundred or so, never have the screws interfered
