I currently have a Glock 26 that I love but don't like to carry it because it is still big and bulky... I have a Keltec 9mm and Keltec 380 that I hate and wouldn't trust my life with... I don't like revolvers but I want something small with a little power to carry on my person... What are your suggestions for guns and holsters?

I can't speak for women, but if you like the pf9, have you considered the kahr cw9/cm9? Good quality little handguns, and similar in size and shape.

I would suggest trying a Crossbreed supertuck. My daughter really likes hers she is small framed about 115 lbs and carries a Glock 23. Unfortunately when you get smaller and lighter the gun gets harder to control the new ruger 9mm is a thinner gun but about the same as your keltec 9 mm .

A 26 is way too small. You need a 19, at least. You'll look ridiculous carrying that. A 26 is for concealed carry, and I'll assume you're not a criminal, so there's no reason to hide your gun.

That may be a new record for the number of inaccurate claims in a one paragraph post.

I may be reading it wrongly, but I sense, from your post that you're torn between carrying what you really want to/know you should carry, and something that you think may not be enough to adequately protect your life. There's always a tradeoff with size/weight/power.

Here's what I'd tell a friend - I would encourage you to decide what gun you want to fight with and then figure out how to carry it. Many people carry a handgun larger than a G26. It's not that hard to do with a little thought. Our forefathers carried and made due with larger, heavier guns of more limited capacity. They would have LOVED a G26, and probably have carried two of them.

So, I'd suggest that you not give up on the G26 just yet, but explore your clothing options, holsters, and a good belt first. Just my :twocents:.

Here's an article for a bit of perspective ==>> http://www.survivalblog.com/2010/07/why_not_carry_the_big_gun_by_s.html

My mother in law was in town last week and proud of her new Beretta Bobcat, but wondering how she could carry it. So, just to make a point, latter in the day I turned the conversation back to carrying. Then I proceeded to pull 8 handguns out from various places on my body along with 3 reloads, a cell phone, money clip, pepper spray, knife, and a light. This was with my typical 3 season dress. I had been wondering around the house for quite some time and she had no idea I was carrying anything. Frankly, it could have been 11 handguns, but I ran out of holsters. I think she got the point that carrying a single handgun would not be a problem once she gave it a bit of thought - IF she could wrap her head around the idea that it may require a shift in her lifestyle. Many people don't want to change anything about their current lifestyle and that's what keeps them from carrying more.

FWIW, well over half of INGOers carry a compact to full-size handgun and about 75-85% carry spare ammunition.

Again, just my :twocents:. Carry less if you want to and are comfortable with it. Just trying to open your mind to the possibilities.

I was going to recommend her channel. Her advice is great, even if it's a little creepy that she won't show her face and used to live in a van.

Try a High Noon Tuck able for your G26. Easily concealed.

    Split Decision

Or try the same holster for a Taurus 709 Slim. Even easier to conceal that the G26, and it give you 7+1 rounds of 9mm. Some on this forum will denigrate the Taurus line, but I have been carrying this on a regular basis for two years. After some warranty work on it, the 709 has been flawless. I trust it.
