Been thinking about building up another project. Started with just buying a slide and frame from Palmetto state armory and planned to buy a part here and there. I couldn't go that long and went all out. As stated slide and frame are from Palmetto State. All Other parts are EGW with the exception of the firing pin being a bulletproof and the barrel being a a 460 Rowland. Gotta say this thing came very well machined from Palmetto state and was just about as perfect a fit as you can get. It's tuned using 20lb flat spring from EGW. Ignition is EGW kit that needed very little for a very nice trigger job. All in all turned out great. Still need to put a good finish on it but the biggest part is done and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I talked to Rowland a bit while building this one. My concern was in using stainless steel frame and slide because an Internet search kind of has a lot of mixed information on using stainless. I was reassured it was okay as long as I used good lube and a lighter spring than that used in carbon steel. So far I am quite happy with this one. Only test fired it a few times at this point but it is very smooth and recoil is not an issue at all in this set up.

I bet that 625 is a blast to shoot. I have a 329 night guard that I don't mind shooting. And the 460 produces much less recoil than it does. But it weighs quite a bit more. I may look into doing a 3** Smith and Wesson in 460r . So far I really like the round.
