new to me Marlin 60

I just picked up a Marlin model 60 and was looking for scopes. I'm just going to use it for plinking and the occasional pesky varmit in the yard. Suggestions?

I can't seem to find any CCI locally so I picked up Aguila Super Extra 40 grain. Have you ever used this stuff?

Yep, I put one of the Tasco 3-9x something that came in a blister pack for about $30 on my Marlin 60 and it had done a great job for me. The Model 60 is a great plinker and very accurate, so any inexpensive rifle scope should work just fine.

It came with a Tasca 4x15 but wasn't on the rifle. I'm not a big fan of not being able to adjust magnification. Hard to complain too much though, only have $40 in the gun..... and its in good shape. The guy just didn't want it anymore.

I have been using a 10/22 for years so it will be interesting to compare the two side by side when shooting.

Simmons 22 magnum scope is very nice for the money, plus they where just running a sale. 20%mail in rebate.

You can get a Bushnell 4x25 for like 30$ at walmart and shoot all day

I think my 10/22 has a Bushnell. Are the scope mounts at Walmart?

I have a BSA Sweet 17 on my HMR 17, very nice. Of course i paid full price when I got it

I second the Simmons 22MAG 3-9x32 scope. Mine has treated me very well for $40.

great little guns just make sure you keep it clean i run a bushy 3-9x40

I have the Simmons .22 mag 4x fixed on my model 60. It's rock solid and holds 2.5-3" groups at 50 yards, 2" is very possible, if I were a more disciplined shooter. The model 60 is a tack driver anyway. It's the most accurate out of the box rifle I have ever shot. My 10-22 can't hold a candle to my model 60 when it comes to accuracy.

I've got one I put a $30 bushnell on, a lot better than the air rifle scope that came on it.

I picked up my model 60 at a pawn shop in WI. One of the best little 22 I have. I just put a Simmons 3-9 on it. Before I had an older 2 power with a 20mm objective. I shot squirrels in the head all day long. Great rifle. My boys love shooting it too. Simply put, it will shoot good with any optic you out on it.
