I just may have to get one of these. Im a sucker for the full size, less recoil and quicker return to target, but I also never fired a combat master. Just a couple officer models, I believe Colts. Hmmm some serious thinking to do, just wish I could fire one. Thanks for the info, and enjoy your new toy!

Wait until spring. I usually bring at least 1 of my CombatMasters to the NWI INGO Meet & Shoot events for people to try out.

I love to see a man get so much enjoyment from his favorite guns!

While I admit the look of some of the Detonics you post doesn't really do it for me, this is one nice looking little gun you have there. Very sweet!
Don't know much about them, I have handled exactly ONE in my life, couldn't even tell you what model it was, and anytime I try to read a Detonics history I just get confused. lol

Congrats on your addition! Keep collecting!! And showing them for us to enjoy!

I actually like the history and the innovations of the gun. That is what attracted me to them. While the 1911 design has been around for 100 years, it simply didn't work when scaled down. Nor did stainless steel pistols work prior to Detonics. There are simply so many "1st" and so many patents that were developed by the folks at Detonics in the 1970s that have benefited the entire gun community that I am constantly intrigued by the brand, which really only exists because of the CombatMaster model.
