Found an old thread inquiring about security @ Newport Aquarium. That thread mentioned no metal detectors - but bag checks.

Anyone been recently that can chime in?

Not sure how recent you mean, but I took the kids last spring and was GTG.

If you happened to have a large metal object in your waistband there you would be just fine. Hope that answers your question

Within the last 4 months, and we had no bag checks nor are there walk through or wands visible.
