.45 has more stopping power, and it gives you a wide range of options (1911, XDs, etc.). IMO, .40 is expensive and isn't enough different from 9mm to justify the added cost.

Im looking at the Ruger 45's either sr1911or the sr45 Im really leaning to the 1911.

A Ruger Blackhawk convertible in 357/9mm is on my list. Why? Because I think long barrel revolvers are fun to shoot.
