posting in here to follow, very interested in this as well. I imagine there is massive liability with insurwance coverage that will make this a big no go at most public ranges

    In the country, hopefully.
I believe the nvg portion of the class is sim force on force
That's what I took from his link too, that looked very interesting until you got to the details, I didn't even see NV mentioned in his link but could've missed it. Our dearly departed shooter was probably trying very hard to come up with a quality looking post.
It would be great if true, and I hope something pops up in this thread, but I won't hold my breath. That's pretty high end training I would imagine.

Hoosier National forest would be your best bet to do your own thing in Indiana. Manistee National Forest in Michigan also allows target shooting.

There was a group that got together and shot in a quarry over in Ohio.
    Team tactics, IR illuminators…
Too rich for my blood but I checked out one of the guys gear at a low light shoot, NVG white phosphorus with thermal overlay. He described it best when he said it was like having a superpower.
That was two years ago so maybe it still goes on idk.

The Legion 9/11 Run-n-Gun event is adding two more competition classes this year. A night trail run with shooting! NV only & White Light. Both are 5k with 5 (I think) shooting stages.

Look for the event page on Facebook or hit me up closer to August for registration info. I'll be there as an RSO.

Bump. We're about a month out from sign-up.

I'm going to help as an RO + do some drone video. I'll be in the night white light 5k group. I'm putting together kit but don't think I'll be ready in time for NVG.

I think the problem with renting equipment (for me) might be it takes time to get somewhere and zero in the dbal. If the dbal was a dual collimated visible/IR laser, things would be much easier.

Would you rent out a helmet and mounts for a PVS14 too?

I'm assembling a Sionix Aurora Pro camera kit. I still need a helmet and illuminator. It ain't no PVS14 for sure but should do OK.
