Are you HT your own blades? If you are, are you heating it like 1080/1084? Same tempering cycles?

Thanks MR. I'll throw this one out and start over.

PoolQ's, yep HT done in house. A whole lot of trial and error and the wisdom from an Anvil Beater of many decades got me started. Using an oven now. O-1 has some good recipes out there, it's just a matter of trying a bunch and getting dialed in for what you want. I've got a long ways to go, but they are holding up well thus far. Improve, learn from mistakes, improve, curse, have fun....

Very nice !! Been looking at the Evenheat and the Paragon just just can't pull the trigger.
Want one so I can do more SS cutlery instead of having to send it out and wait.
For now, I will just stick with my carbons and keep playing with fire :D

    OK...i give up!

I have had a bad case of the "i wants" for the past few weeks watching all of your posts...this one just put me over the edge and the "i wants" just turned into "i needs"

My own pattern, at least I hope. I'm not a huge knife guy, in the regard, that I know a lot of other makers and/or seen 1000's of designs. That being said, these are knives and much like some things I am sure it will resemble others made, if people have been making sharp stabby bits from metal for 1000's of years at some point either knowingly or unknowingly knife makers designs might seem similar to others out there.

My process of designing them involves a mechanical pencil and graph paper. Few of them such as the next Slicer was just me taking a shaprie to the steel and then cutting it out and grinding it to the shape I wanted.
