North Korea 'earthquake' near nuclear test site: South suspects explosion at Punggye-ri facility - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

The website of the China Earthquake Network Centre also described it as a "suspected explosion".

The US Geological Survey (USGS) put the tremor at magnitude 5.1, at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre 19 kilometres east-north-east of Sungjibaegam — placing it right next to the Punggye-ri nuclear test site.

The North has conducted three nuclear tests, all at the Punggye-ri site, in 2006, 2009 and 2013.

What are the chances they are digging a really deep hole and filling it with thousands of tons of tnt?

Little Kim's crew try to bluff us? Never!

At least, even if they can't really get a nuclear bomb right, at least they have proven they can manage not to screw up an earthquake!

North Korea nuclear H-bomb claims met by scepticism - BBC News

Bruce Bennett, an analyst with the Rand Corporation, was among those casting doubts on Pyongyang's test: "The bang they should have gotten would have been 10 times greater than what they're claiming.
"So Kim Jong-un is either lying, saying they did a hydrogen test when they didn't, they just used a little bit more efficient fission weapon - or the hydrogen part of the test really didn't work very well or the fission part didn't work very well."
The data "doesn't support suggestions that the bomb was a hydrogen bomb", Chinese military expert Du Wenlong told state broadcaster CCTV.

I can see them actually having a earthquake and using the opportunity to lie to make themselves look cool. "We have a thermo nuke now, yeah we're awesome."
