Nothing "micro" about the BUFF.

They rattle sabres, we make a show of force. They blow something up, we have a BUFF do a fly-by at Osan. We have a big military exercise, they go bat-crap crazy. Our media runs with a story during a big military exercise, families back home get worried. Except for the BUFF coming to Korea all this happened in 1993 too. We had 1,100 troops deployed into Taegu (a lot from Okinawa, more from the States), Peter Jennings decided that 75% of the NORK military being on the DMZ was big news. I heard 75% and thought, "So few??" I told my wife that they'd just harvested the cabbage and we could see them now.

Indeed! The BUFF constitutes nothing short of 'macroaggression' by its presence, and I will also agree that the DPRK, standing its entire military to the man at the border, would have a 20% chance of military success by making the South Koreans and Americans laugh so hard that they could not fight effectively.

When the Norks stomped a US Major at Panmunjon in 1975, we flew up and down our section of the DMZ with 19lb rockets hanging out of the tubes of our Cobras, DARING someone to shoot at us. THAT's "microaggression!"
