Has anyone on here ever been to Steak and Shake and ordered the 7 by 7? I have a bunch of times. I dont get them on a regular basis due to the fact that i want to live past 40. For those that do not know what this is I will tell you. It is 7 patties. 7 slices of cheese. 1 bun. Well I had a magical idea one night to step this up just a touch. I lovingly refer to it as a JACKPOT!!!!! 7 patties 7 slices of cheese 7 layers of Bacon...... 777 get it? Anyway it was kind of expensive since the bacon is basically $1 per layer. It was way worth it. I tried just one layer of bacon once before but the cheese and burger totally overpowered the bacon. I highly recommend it if you are looking for an experience that will fill you up but not break the bank. I will however suggest a fork to eat the 7 by 7 with due to the amount of grease but to each his/her own.

I used to like Steak & Shake on occasion until they gave me an ice cold burger at the drive through. Unfortunately I didn't notice before taking a bite and it was disgusting. The fat had solidified and coated my mouth before I could spit it out.

I have no idea how it happened considering how they typically run the place but that was the last time I ate there.

I could do the burger, but not the "cheese". "American Cheese" is not cheese. I'd happily try it with cheddar or pepper jack though.

I don't know why they took the pepper sauce off the tables. They still have it if you ask for it though.

And I realize my like for the chili cheese fries is counterintuitive to my disdain for American cheese, but liquid "cheddar" gets a pass.

I'd be willing to give it a shot, once. I probably wouldn't eat again for 2 days after. It's too bad our 'local' (25 minutes away) Steak N Shake is so poor quality. The burgers are always dripping and they can't figure out how to cook bacon. The bacon is very tiny and is never crisp or even close to it.

The pepper jack cheese does sound good on that.
