Novak sights on a RIA 1911 GI

I just bought a Rock Island 1911 GI model with a Nickel finish. I was wondering if I sent it to a gun smith if I could put after market Novak night sights on it. Any info is appreciated

I'm so sorry if this is wrong: BUT I would assume that from the factory slots on the slide, it would not be able to receive the genuine Novak dovetailed slides. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the front sight fixed from factory?

If I'm not mistaken, since you have fixed sights, you should need a front sight with a .055 narrow tang.

Novaks require milling the slide and refinishing. You can call brownells and they will help you.

you could always send it to novak and have them install them but it might take a while to get back thats what i wanted to do with my ria before i got rid of it. kinda wish i still had it

Are the sights on these RIA's staked or fixed? If those sights would do the trick, that's an awesome find!

The RIA's should be fixed, but I'd think you could get the sights milled off so that you can add the night sights.
