i don't think there's many pure bred people left, I've got Irish, Sioux Indian, German, English... The fine red facial hair just doesn't come in that well, and when it finally does it's patchy and kinda does its own thing...

Mine is similar when it starts out. Fairly similar background too except it isn't Sioux. It starts off fine red hair then ends up turning into bushy, ginger goodness. The thinner/patchy areas end up filling in. Of course, I'm getting some coarse white hairs mixed in these days.

After growing in the full goatee/mustache combo all that grows in nice and thick and lays down flat. By the time I'm ready to shave it off in April, it will be grown in good... I'm starting to get some of those white hairs to, must be something in the water?

It's in everybody's water man. I wish someone would have pointed out to me as a kid that 100% of people who drink water die. I would have started on beer much sooner.

it will quit. Mine usually does somewhere between week 2 and week 3.

you can also moisturize your face/beard to help.

I wash my beard daily with my hair using Head and Shoulders and never have an itchy beard. Plus I tell people the shampoo helps give my beard some "bounce". They usually look at me funny then I'll run my fingers through my beard. I think they're jealous.

I'm back to a goatee per the Misses.

    Still pee standing up?:p

In my house, all decisions regarding my facial hair are mine and mine alone.

Or at least that's what I say when I'm absolutely certain my wife won't hear me say it.:bat:

I missed this thread until now.. I've had a full beard for a year now. Dot plan on shaving it any time soon. I do trim it every once in a while though. It's about 1.25 inches or so right now.
