    Awwwwwwwww...so cute.
    Wait a minute...
All joking aside, Copperheads really are beautiful in their own right.
Good on you for not just snuffing him.

Those coppery colored garter snakes are the most fun to handle casually. They really like it when you put your face right in front of them and stick your tongue out in solidarity.

The other day I was doing yard work.
I was clearing a runoff drain.
For the first time in my 74 years I seen a brown garter snake.
Where I grew up. we had a lot of black and gold stripped garters.
    We also had green garters.
My brown looked very close to your picture.
i did see what looked like two black strips.
the brown and black blended in to much to say for sure.
It slipped into my runoff pipe.
I have seen a lot of the black and gold garters here.

I always say, "more snakes, less mice and rats".

Our resident old lady RHCM died last year after slithering up onto the train tracks. Heck of a mess, half the train derailed. Her babies are only now at the cat eating stage, so we've got a couple of years yet before they start threatening the local children.

I think I remember reading about that...sad what she did to the train crew before expiring.

You should move down here Jetta......Our church pews are hard, the BBQ is good, and the snakes are mostly not poisonous.....:)

    Key word being mostly.

I'd rather see more pics of Bob, he looks like a nice fellow

He is, for now, but his mama is a real *****. Got a few more pics of him I need to upload.
