So many very big name sponsors had already cancelled.
Brownells, Browning, Mossberg, Daniel Defense, Hornady... and the list goes on.

My bet is that they really didn't want to cancel, but what kind of a show would it be with no vendors?

    Blamed it on COVID?

    ETA: Yes.
The Toyota center is a safer venue in Houston, UFC 265 sold out crowd August 7th. Maybe the vendors and the NRA should talk to Dana White about how to make this happen!:nailbite::stickpoke:

I had seriously considered going and am very thankful that I decided not to. I'd be really unhappy if I'd already purchased airline tickets and booked a hotel, which I would have done by now if I were going.

My daughter just canceled her trip to Texas to get together with some old school chums. Although fully vaccinated, she didn't want there to be a possibility of bringing back COVID-19 and passing it along to her kids who are too young to be vaccinated. Looks like the NRA and exhibitors are taking that approach. Better safe than sorry.
